SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MPH/MSc Epidemiology & Biostatistics for candidates from Districts of Malakand Division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province and Orakzai, South Waziristan, Bajaur and Mohmand Agencies of FATA
USAID funded FATA-KP Health Program (FKHP) is a Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health focused program which, among other objectives, aims to strengthen long term public health, health planning and health management capacity in the program districts and agencies in Khyber Pa khtunkhwa (KP) and FATA. FKHP has scholarships opportunities for the 2014-2016 session of Master of Public Health (MPH) OR Master of Science (MSc) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics fulltime programs (starting February 2014) at Khyber Medical University's Institute of Public Health and Social Sciences, Peshawar for selected candidates either working fulltime or permanent residents of FKHP program areas namely KP Districts: Malakand, Shangla, Swat, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Buner and Chitral and FATA Agencies: Orakzai, South Waziristan, Bajaur and Mohmand and also at both Directorates of Health FATA & KP at Peshawar. Individuals who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply: For KP• Only Government employees (with at least regular 3 years service) of any department from FKHP target areas in KP. For FATA: Government employees (with at least regular 3 years service) of any department OR private candidates from FKHP target areas in FATA. For KR and FATA Directorates of Health Peshawar. Government employees (with at least regular 3 years service). 11 Candidates with at least sixteen (16) years of education with any of the following degree completed: a) MBBS/MD/BDS or equivalent qualification recognized by PMDC; b) BSc Nursing recognized by PNC; c) BSc: Prosthetic & Orthotic Sciences/Paramedics/Human Nutrition/Physiotherapy/Pharmacy 2) Age limit: 45 years. 31 Personnel with existing Master's or higher qualifications are NOT eligible.
Please note that:
1) Only one candidate from each district/agency/Directorate of Health will be selected. 21 Selection will strictly be based on merit and shall be jointly made by USAID/FKHP and KMU. 31 Falsifying information will render the candidate ineligible. 41 FKHP will pay for tuition fee, boarding and lodging, one laptop, a small travel and stationery allowance for the selected candidates. 5) Candidate have to commit to work for at least three years in one of the FKHP program areas following completion of studies. 61 All the government employees must apply through proper channel with advance copy to the office of Chief of Party FKHP as per address narrated below. Interested female/male candidates meeting the criteria to submit copies of degrees (please do not include Matric and FSc certificates), experience certificates, valid PMDC/PNC or other relevant registration certificate with a one-page cover letter describing why you should be selected for the scholarship. Applications to be addressed to Chief of Party, USAID's FATA-KP Health Program, Save the Children, 4-C Railway Road, University Town, Peshawar will only be received by courier or by hand at the latest till 12:00 hrs on 10 February 2014.
