Senior Economist (No. of Positrons: 01)
Description:As the primary age, for .. protection, the NTC is responsible for administering trade defense laws. In addition. the NTC has a research mandate to provide analyses for use C policy formulation at the interventionist govemment level. The Project is seeking the.reices of a Senior Economist to be embedded with the NTC in order to strengthen the organization, ability to perform targeted and effective research. The Senior Economistwill be responsible for managing the NTC research unit and identifying research oppoduniti. relevant NTC, mandate and Pakistan, trade environment. The Senior Econom. is responsible for producing research publications on topics such as tariffs, industry competitiveness, mare. access, pricing studies on commodities, and ex-ante/ex-post impact assessments of trade agreemenre The position requires ex.11ent supervisory, organ.tional and management skills, and a demonstrated abflity to perform specialists atthe NTC, as well as government agencies Involved in trade issues. Required Qualification: M. Phil or PhD in International Economics from a Higher Education Commission thIEC, recogn,ed fore,n unNersity Specialization in International Trade and demons.ted expertise in econometric anaNsis and research is required. Experience: One year minimum of post-doctorate economic research with PhD; minimum three yeare economic research with M.Phil.
