POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Chairperson Higher Education Commission
The Search Committee for the Chairperson of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) appointed by the Prime Minister, Islamic Republic of Pakistan invites applications from persons of international eminence and proven ability to lead country's premier Higher Education Commission.
Terms of the Appointment The Chairperson, HEC shall be appointed by the Prime Minister for a period of 4 years on such terms and conditions as may be determined by the appointing authority. Eligibility • The candidates should have at least 20 years of relevant experience and preferably hold PhD degree. Minimum qualification is postgraduate degree from a leading institute with proven track record of internationally recognized contribution in the field of higher education. Application Persons having requisite expertise, accomplishments and capable of taking up the challenge may apply by sending a letter of intent, resume, photo with proof(s) of excellence and accomplishments. The candidates shall submit upto 2000 word statement of their vision for HEC and proposed initiatives in next four years along with applications. Members of civil society, professionals, scholars, etc. are also encouraged to nominate accomplished academicians, researchers or administrators in the field of higher education, of international repute for consideration of possible appointment as Chairperson, HEC. Those already in Government/Semi Government service are required to apply through proper channel. The last date for submission of the application complete in all respects is January 22, 2014 Only shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interviews. No TA/DA shall be admissible.
