National Institute of Population Studies-NIPS Launches Final Report on Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey-PDHS (2012-13)
Final Report on Pakistan Demographic & Health Survey-PDHS (2012-13) has been launched by Ms. Seine Afzal Tarar, Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination in a Dissemination Seminar held at Islamabad on 22nd January, 2014 and graciously participated by Begum Zakia Shah Nawaz, Minister for Population Welfare, Punjab, Mn. Shaukat Yousafzai, Advisor to CM for Health, Government of KP and Mn. Haji Gulbar Khan, Minister for Health & Population Welfare, Government of GB, other Parliamentarians, Mn. Imtiaz Inayat Elahi, Secretary, Mb o NHSR&C, Provincial Secretaries for Population Welfare from Punjab and Sindh, Mn. Richard Olson, US Ambassador to Pakistan, Mn. Gregory Gottlieb, Mission Director USAID, Representatives from Development Partner Organizations, NG0s, CS0s, Private Sector, Research Institutes, Academia, Media and other walks of life. Mr. Abdul Basit Khan, Executive Director and the NIPS Team of researchers presented highlights of the Report. Pakistan Demographic & Health Survey-PDHS (2012-13) Report published by the National Institute of Population Studies-NIPS provides evidence- based information for demographic and health indicators in Pakistan and Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan Provinces and ICT. The Survey completed with technical support from the ICF Intl. and financial assistance from USAID, covered a sample of 12,943 households, 13,558 ever-manied women and 3,134 men, with 15-49 years of age. Some of the major findings given in the PDHS (2012-13) Report:

Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey-PDHS (2012-13) contains data sets and reliable estimates on significant demographic and health related indicators especially the Fertility Trends (TFR). Population Growth Rate (PGR). Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (CPR), Trends in Childhood Mortality, Reproductive Health, Maternal and Child Health. Women and Children Nutritional Status, Werner Empowerment and Domestic Violence, Trends in Vaccination Coverage, Vaccination Coverage by Region and Knowledge about HIV & AIDS.
PDHS Data is useful for National and Provincial level policy makers and planners especially those engaged with social sector including population welfare, health and the development as a whole.
