I visualize a very brilliant future of Abdul Wall Khan University Mardan which would cater for the needs of thousands of young scholars whose rich intellectual potentialities have not been hitherto allowed to develop properly due to non-provision of opportunities.The youth will be fired with evolutionary insight for developing a culture of creative and research oriented thinking through collaboration with the prestigious universities of the world for sharing the rapidly expanding horizons of modern knowledge in Basic and Applied Sciences besides acquiring technical ingenuity. I appeal to all those at the helm &affairs to join us in this gigantic noble task of national importance to make this University a great seat of learning. We wish this University flourish and prosper. May Allah help and guide us to embark on the golden road-map of success.
Five Years of Excellence
An Introduction:The establishment of the Abdul Wall Khan University on 25th February 2009 was a remarkable achievement in the field of higher education, which got deep roots in the dissemination and promotion of higher education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a short period of five years. In fact this great institution is not only providing opportunities to the youth and those who are striving for a better future but has also pledged to equip them with the capabilities to move with the world and face the challenges of 21st century. Under the leadership of veteran academician and skillful administration of Prof. Dr Ihsan Ali, who has worked day and night to make this institution a great seat of learning, inspite of so many hurdles and barriers,he took the challenge of starting it from scratch. Today, the institution is making progress by leaps and bounds in both academic and non-academic sectors. The university startedwith 08 departments and now there are 24 departments where more than seven thousand students are enrolled. The university has attracted 114 PhD faculty,while 74 are pursuing their degrees in foreign universitiesthat would join them upon completion of their degrees. in order to furtherenhance the capacity of the faculty on board, the university has also granted 57 indigenous scholarships, to the faculty members. The university has signed multiple MoUs with the leading universities of the world to ensure quality and create more opportunities for further research. The network of seven campuses in different districts of the province and the largest bus service providing pick and drop service to the students are something that could be rarely seenelsewhere, but AWKUM is determined to provide quality and affordable education to the people of Mardan and adjacent districts•at their.doorsteps which is the motto of this emerging institution where miracles are expected.

Candidates desiring to apply for more than one discipline are required to submit separate application forms for each discipline in the prescribed manner. 4. Candidates are required to attach: Bank Draft of RS. 1000/- for MS/IV1Phil, LLM & Rs. 1500/-for, PhD in favour of Treasurer, Abdul Wall Khan University Mardatt OR Receipt of online transfer of Rs. 1000/- for MS/MPhil, LLM & Rs. 1500/- for PhD to UBL A/C, No. 0273-88300322 Eligibility criteria for MS/MPhil / LLM To be eligible for admission in MS/MPhil / LLM Programme, a candidate is required to have:-1. Sixteen years of schooling or 4 years education with a minimum of 2.5 CGPA in semester system of at least 130 credit hours after HSSC or equivalent. 2. Valid GAT General/ NTS with minimum 50% cumulative score at the time of admission. 3. No more than two second divisions in the entire academic career Eligibility criteria for PhD To be eligible for admission to the PhD program a candidate is required to have:- 1. MS/MPhil degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 3.00 CCM in semester system of at least 30 credit hours or 1st division under annual system. 2. No third division in the entire academic career. 3. No more than two second divisions in the entire academic career. 4. Have qualified NTS/Graduate Assessment Test (Subject) or GRE (Subject). 5. Have qualified International GRE (subject) in case of the subjects specified by HEC. Note 1. Last date for submission of admission form is 5th March, 2014 2 Those applying online shall take a print of admission form and submit it to the concerned departments along with receipt/ bank draft. 3. In Service Candidates shall take study leave and shall apply through proper channel.
