CALL FOR PILOT RESEARCH PROPOSALS
DoST under the developmental scheme "PILOT RESEARCH STUDIES" is endeavoring to provide financial assistance to the academia to come up with innovative and indigenous technologies/ solutions for problem faced by the country. In this Regard Research Proposals are invited on prescribed format (available on www.dost.gov.pk) from interested Scholars, Engineers, Professors, & Scientists from R&D Organization/ SMEs and individuals based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Pilot studies in partnership with Organizations/ Individual, would be focused preferably on topics that are based on best global practices or on areas that are clearly relevant to an issue requiring immediate attention in the nearest future or is meant to fill identified gaps in earlier studies or projects.
1. Financial assistance will be provided to: a) Those lab scale R&D completed studies that are justifiably needed to be studied on pilot scale. b) Those studies which are Need/ Demand based, Replicable, Up-scalable, and Solution oriented.
2. Short-termed Projects preferably of 1 year duration. 3. Components including Salaries or procurement of Lab Equipment will be discouraged. 4. Applicant while submitting research proposals should give brief justification whether proposal, he/she is submitting, falls in the ambit of pilot study.

The selection would be made by the evaluation committee of DoST comprising of experts from the relevant sectors. • Application with the supporting documents should reach the office of the undersigned on or before 31/01/2014 both in hard and soft form. (Soft copies should be submitted at(info.prs@dost.gov.pk( • Incomplete applications or applications received after the closing date will not be entertained. • The DoST decision will be binding upon all applicants regarding acceptance/ rejection of research proposals.
