Applications are invited for the post of Technologist at Anti-Snake Venom / Anti-Rabies Serology Laboratory Project, Sakrand. The person will be stationed at Sakrand, however can be instructed to travel very often among Peoples Medical University, Shaheed Benazirabad: Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam; Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Sakrand: Sindh University Jamshoro: and whichever University / Institute establishes joint research program with the project. He / she may also be required to travel rural Sindh for various project related responsibilities. The core job responsibilities will include: 1. To establish and operate small animal house for project experimentation and quality control. 2. To establish and operate snake house. 3. Organize and monitor the health and nutrition profiles of laboratory animals and to suggest various cost effective methods and processes to keep them healthy and nutritious. 4. Prepare various concentrations / dilutions of snake venom and inoculate scientifically to horses and camels and if required sheep, goats or any other animal deem fit for the purpose. 5. Draw blood from laboratory animals under, extreme hygienic conditions and according to pre-described scientific protocol (SOPs), conserve and inject back the cellular component and preserve the serum for further laboratory processing.

6. To conduct LD50 and ED50 efficiently and preciously. 7. Must be able to describe and practice bio safety protocol of a serology laboratory and know how to handle snake venom in any Lab. environment. 8. Conduct animal experimentation under WHO protocol while observing well the animal rights in research. Any recognized certification in the concern will be appreciated. The applicant should be Graduate or Post-Graduate of veterinary and animal sciences. Age shall not be more than 35 years on the last day of application submission. Any experience of working in a serology laboratory or of production of immunological from equine source or similar will be preferred over education or training. The last date for application submission together with detailed CV shall be 15th February, 2014 or 15th day from the date of this publication (whichever comes later).
