1. The Program Management & Implementation Unit (PMIU), Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh (the "Procuring Agency") has received a grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) towards the cost of construction of schools in selected districts of Sindh and it is intended that part of the proceeds of the grant will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the construction of eleven schools in district Sakhar (Taluka Pano Akil, Rohri, Sakhar City, Salehpat, & New Sakhar), in Package-03. 2. Procuring Agency invites sealed bids from the interested firms already prequalified for Sindh Basic Education Program (SBEP). 3. Bidders may obtain information by acquiring the bidding documents (BD) from the office of PMIU (address as above) upto 13th January, 2014, 1700 hours, free of cost. A complete set of bidding documents in soft (CD) is being dispatched to all pre-qualified firms at their postal addresses. 4. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of Rs. 12.00 million (Rupees twelve million) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency in the form of Pay Order / Call Deposit/ Demand Draft/Bank Guarantee from any scheduled bank of Pakistan. and must be delivered to SBEP PMIU office (address as above) at or before 1400 hours. on 3rd February, 2014. Bids will be opened at 1430 hours on the same day in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the same address. The bid validity period will be 90 days. 5. Visit to the school sites will be held on 16th & 17th January, 2014. Gathering point for the field visit will be the project regional office of Halcrow at Sakhar (House No C-172, Block C. Government Employees Cooperative Housing Society Limited) at 0900 Hrs. 6. A pre-bid meeting shall be held on 21st January, 2014 at 1100 hours at PMIU office. The bidders may send their queries according to the ITB 8.1 of the Tender Conditions. 7. Procuring Agency reserves right to annul the bidding process and reject all bids or proposals, as per SPP Rules 2010. 8.
